  • My wall has a lime (chuna cement) surface. What type of paint can I apply?

It is not recommended to apply paint on to a chuna or lime surface as, at a later stage, it will lead to chalking or peeling of the paint from the surface. Nippon Paint suggests that lime or chuna surfaces be scraped off completely. After this, one coat of Nippon Multi Purpose Wall Sealer or Nippon Interior Primer can be applied, followed by 2-3 coats of interior emulsion paint. If the lime or chuna surface is an exterior surface, after scraping the surface, apply Nippon Bio-wash in order to tackle any bacterial, algal or fungal growth on the walls. This can be followed by one coat of Nippon Multi Purpose Wall Sealer or Nippon Exterior Primer, subsequently followed by 2-3 coats of exterior emulsion paint.
